"Take me as I am, or leave me the way you found me"

In my past, I have been guilty of judging people before getting to know them. When I moved to Abilene I was lonely and desperate for good relationships, better ones than I had before. It wasn't long before I met Mike Miles, probably one of the coolest, funnest, and one who falls into the category of some of the most brilliant people I know. I'm sad to say that in high school I probably would have never considered a friendship with a lot of the people that are currently in my life, including one of whom I depend on, Mike Miles. The basis for this would simply be an inaccurate, brash judgment of people due to my own insecurities and pride. Miles is a huge dork, and I wouldn't have him any other way. The many people who know him well would definitely agree. And in reality, when you get to know someone well, and ourselves, we come to find that we are all "dorks" in our own way. So this one goes to Meelay (Mike Miles), I wish I knew you when I was younger. Can't wait for Eurotrip '11!

How can the Marines make your dreams come true?

I remember when I was in high school, a U.S. Marines recruit officer called me to try and sell the armed forces to me like a car salesman tries to sell a Jetta. I realize that this guy was just doing his job, but he was a huge tool. After saying no, I don't see how changing someones mind into joining the Marines after a phone call promotes wise decision making skills. He asked me what my dream job was, as if this eager jarhead behind a desk was going to make my dreams come true. I told him the truth. I said, "My dream job is to be a board shaper, and a fisherman." I almost felt sorry for the guy. I could hear his brain stumble and studder as he went down the list in his mind, not finding board shaper or fisherman, between lawyer, doctor, or business executive. He hesitantly asked me how the Marines can help me get that job one day. I told him they can't, and he seemed ok with that. Thought that was a neat story I would share and dedicate to this photo.
Peace & Love,

p.s. I support and honor the armed forces, but I don't wanna be in them.

Music

I can't imagine what my life would be like without it. If it didn't exist, Who would I be? So much of what I do involves music. I drive with it, work with it, work out with it, chill with it, party with it, sleep with it, walk with it, and make my own. It complements so much of what I do throughout the day, I wonder if I would do half of the things that I do if I was without it. Anyways... This one's for soul food:
